This week, we jet off to Boston to join up with the more than 14,000 marketing and sales professionals attending HubSpot’s INBOUND 2016 summit.
The sheer scale of the event is a clear indication of the rapidly growing need for businesses to turn inbound in their marketing efforts and the popularity with which this approach is taking hold.
The inbound methodology involves businesses pulling potential customers into their online content to offer value and show how they can provide a product or service that provides a solution, rather than using the traditional approach of pushing out the ‘we are great’ message and the hard sell. It’s more efficient, more effective, and an essential approach to meet the changes in consumer behaviour we see today.
While we are positioned as a leading digital marketing agency in Ireland, hosting HubSpot User Group events here and speaking at similar group events in the UK, we know there is always more to learn, which is why we will be attending a lot of the great keynote speeches, inspirational talks and educational breakouts taking place over four days.
We want to learn from the best thought-leaders in our industry, hear what they have to say about best practices and what the future has in store, not just for the digital marketing industry, but for all industries.
We’re not ashamed to say it, but we are also there to network, because we want to form great new relationships and make connections with other inbound movers and shakers so that we can bring home what we learn and apply it to our own best practices to give our present and future clients an even better service and help them achieve business success through an even better inbound marketing strategy.
Yes, we are going to Boston so you don’t have to! But you don’t have to thank us just yet.
We’ve set up a nice little basecamp where other inbound marketers will be staying under the same roof, so we will try our best not to turn it into something out of Animal House, but we can’t promise anything.
While the tight schedule of talks will at times be a little gruelling, we look forward to each one, with many speakers from a range of industries and backgrounds taking to the stage over the course of the summit.
Alongside talks from the likes of entrepreneur and bestselling author Gary Vaynerchuk, and HubSpot co-founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah, will be lighter but no less interesting fair from none other than Alec Baldwin, Serena Williams and Anna Kendrick. We can’t wait to hear what they all have to say.
We are really looking forward to the welcome keynote speech from Gary Vaynerchuck, owner of the VaynerMedia digital agency, investor in Facebook, Twitter and Uber and prolific public speaker.
As proud HubSpot partners who deliver effective digital marketing strategies and services through the Content Optimisation System (COS), we also look forward to hearing from inbound strategist at The Sales Lion, George Thomas, as he gives tips on becoming world class with the many elements and parts of the HubSpot tool in 60 days or less.
The same obviously goes for the keynote speech from HubSpot co-founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah, who will look at the rapidly changing landscape of marketing, sales and customer engagement, and what the future has in store for digital marketing. (We will also be keeping an eye out for news of new HubSpot product launches)
The future of digital marketing will also be the focus of a talk from Yaron Galai, CEO of Outbrain, so it will be interesting to see how this differs from the views of the HubSpot founders.
After that, it’s Mr Alec Baldwin…
One of the last talks we will attend will be from Jeffrey Henry, president and founder of BIGSHOT Inbound, a diamond partner with HubSpot. As a digital marketing agency only one level below this, we are eager to hear stories about how this agency made it to the highest level, so that we can do the same.
We hope to gain many great insights from this world-leading summit on inbound marketing, and bring back more of the expertise that will help us provide an even better service to our clients. (At least one of us also hopes to get to meet a certain Ms Kendrick, but that’s another story).
